A good workout routine is important for good health just as a good sales workout is important to keep you in tiptop shape for sales calls.
I have found that the best way to grow is to continually examine every element of our sales activities and processes so that we can continually refine and improve. Through my reading, I am staying abreast of new sales trends and am constantly improving.
Through experience and education, I have found proven best practices that produce measurable results.
Set up specific goals and focus on reaching that magic number. Learn how to improve in areas that you might be less experienced. Sell your skills. As a sales rep, you know your strong areas and where you might be lacking.
They always say -“practice makes perfect”. Put together sample calls, responses and the best way to handle objections. Find a co-worker or a mirror to practice your sales pitch. Are you quick to respond to a question that you are not sure of the answer? Put together a generic type response that typically will fit all questions such as “That is a great question. Why don’t I find out for you and get back to you tomorrow”. This way you are building rapport with the client and they realize you are honest.
